Framework / libraries:
The sweet taste of good things
Bclittle Kitchen is a small-scale kitchen that makes made to order pastries and bespoke recipes upon clients request. Their products appeals to the young-adult as their pastries are paired well with coffee-based drinks.
Objective of this project is help pull BCLK out of seclusion. Display the current offerings of the kitchen by creating a simple landing page.
Design:
I want to make sure that the images taken of the products are accurate as possible to convey the quality of their products (what you see is what you get manner). Photos used were from inside the kitchen as well as "stolen" from customers hands (they take good pictures I'd say).
The website had a clean approach; minimal animations just subtle ones. Color was taken from the pastry itself; it was used to accent the website from the links and buttons, down to the footer. Menu page was fairly common card style that was stagger animated by GSAP. Then for the product page, a simple gallery for the pastry images.
Code:
The stack used is NextJs for the easy handling of image optimizations and dynamic routing for the products. MongoDb/Mongoose for the product line together with Cloudinary for hosting the images (this could be transitioned to another CMS for easier maintenance). GSAP and Framer-Motion for the subtle animations. CSS mainly used for the layout and to animate the elements.
The site is currently hosted in Vercel.
Conclusion:
With the site now up and running, it is hoped that more people could see and taste what Bclittle Kitchen has to offer.
